The Standing People
Início | The Standing PeopleThe Standing People
They do not walk. They do not need to.
While we move, search, run from place to place trying to find what we need — the trees stay. Rooted in the same ground for decades, sometimes centuries. Witnessing everything. Remembering everything. Growing in silence toward the sky without ever abandoning the earth.
The Cherokee called trees the Standing People. It was not merely poetry. It was the recognition that trees are beings with their own existence, their own memory, their own wisdom — and that this wisdom belongs to a timescale that surpasses any human life.
In this category, we explore trees as shamanism has always understood them: not as resources, not as scenery — but as the oldest People of the forest. Those who arrived before us and who, if we are wise enough, will still be here after us.
